WIS Polls Likely Voters on the Issues

Respondents were asked, do you think that things in the nation are going in the right direction or on the wrong track? Eighty-five percent said they thought the nation was on the wrong track, only nine percent felt we are headed in the right direction.
Then voters were asked, leaving aside the war in Iraq, which will be most important to you in deciding which candidate to support? Schools and healthcare finished tied for number one, followed by the economy. Interestingly, black voters were much more likely than white voters to consider public education the top issue.
Finally, on the issue of what actions the federal government could take that would most improve our children's future, both blacks and whites agreed on this, and among all voters, 65 percent said, ensure that all our children have an opportunity for a quality education.
