New Poll of South Carolina Republicans:
Education at Top of List to Improve Children's Future
WIS-TV in partnership with Communities for Quality Education has conducted a new poll of South Carolina Republican primary voters to assess voter attitudes and priorities about education policy issues leading up to the Republican presidential debate and primary.
For South Carolina's Republican voters, public education remains a major concern. Over half (58%) of Republican voters are "very concerned" about the state of education in both the U.S. and in South Carolina. 59% of Republican voters believe the most important thing the federal government can do to improve the children's future is to improve the quality of public education.
The poll, conducted by Ayers, McHenry & Associates from May 5-8, 2007 surveyed 500 likely Republican primary voters in South Carolina on top domestic priorities and current education issues. This survey is representative of the voters expected to vote in the February 2, 2008, Republican presidential primary.
