New Polls of South Carolina's Voters:
Education at Top of List to Improve Children's Future
WIS-TV in partnership with Communities for Quality Education has conducted
two new polls of South Carolina primary voters to assess voter attitudes
and priorities about education policy issues leading up to the
presidential debates and primaries.
With 85% of Democratic voters saying the nation is on the wrong track, the focus is on education to turn things around. Two-thirds of all Democratic voters and 70% of the crucial African American voting bloc see providing all children with the opportunity for a quality education as the most important measure to improve the future for American youth.

For South Carolina's Republican voters, public education remains a major concern. Over half (58%) of Republican voters are "very concerned" about the state of education in both the U.S. and in South Carolina. 59% of Republican voters believe the most important thing the federal government can do to improve the children's future is to improve the quality of public education.
